Life Coaching covers such a broad swath of the coaching profession that it has many definitions. Wikipedia defines Life Coaching as, “… the process of helping people identify and achieve personal goals. Although life coaches may have studied counseling psychology or related subjects, a life coach does not act as a therapist, counselor, or health care provider, and psychological intervention lies outside the scope of life coaching.” The International Federation of Coaches expects all professional coaches to have an understanding of Life coaching processes. At Balance Coach and Consulting, our view is that Business Coaching is a part of the Life Coaching process. Therefore, we are trained on these processes and include them in every coaching program.

A vision of a Life Coach’s role is one who acts as a mentor, a sounding board, or a flag bearer for the client as he or she works through issues that are holding them back. By working as a lens to the client’s vision of who or what they want to be, the life they want to live, the coach helps to focus the client’s vision and clear the pathway to that future life.

Balance Coach and Consulting offers Life Coaching services. We specialize in Career coaching, Financial coaching, Presentation Skill coaching, and Performance coaching for the individual client. The coach will utilize elements of Relationship coaching to clients that are experiencing issues with workplace relationships. Ultimately, the coach’s focus is on supporting and facilitating the client’s realization of their full potential. The reward is that the client has a greater chance to live a happy, sustaining life.

In fact, there are more and more specialized coaching areas popping up all the time. Not all fall within the umbrella of Life Coaching, but that shouldn’t be considered a negative appraisal of the benefit a person may gain by engaging a specialized coach. Nevertheless, we are more than happy to talk with you and make the appropriate referral, should we agree that is required.
